About this guide
On behalf of the Australian Coastal Society, all our generous sponsors, and our small group of volunteers in the Organising Committee, we
warmly welcome you to Coast to Coast 2018 and this beautiful little city, Hobart.
Thank you for making the decision to attend whether as a keynote speaker, to convene a special session or workshop, to deliver a paper
or participate as a delegate. Your time is precious and finding a week away from work is not easy, so we hope you will find the conference
enjoyable, useful and productive.
This conference is a serious exercise in bringing together people who are in some way committed to a sustainable future for our precious
coastal and marine areas. We hope we have created great conditions for cross-sectoral conversations, building old and new contacts, and growing the matrix of ideas, trust and vision that will provide leadership for our coastal and marine areas into the future.
Coast to Coast belongs to all of us, and our collective work this week is to re-energise this space and each other, and make this gathering a
turning point in the Australian nation's relationship with its coastline.
