Addressing the Attendify Acquisition

Hearing the sudden news that Attendify would be closing down, sunsetting their app platform, and discontinuing all service from July 1st 2022 was surprising and really made us take a moment to sit and reflect on the past ten years.

Attendify is not the first of our peers to be acquired and then sunsetted (QuickMobile and DoubleDutch spring to mind) and the entire Guidebook team feels so fortunate to still be here. Ten years later, we are still delighting our customers and remain independent and privately owned. We are incredibly thankful to our team and our loyal customers. After all, we wouldn’t be here without you!

I firmly believe that when it comes to technology and innovation, a rising tide lifts all boats. Companies like Attendify encouraged us to innovate. Their focus on events ensured that we could never take our eyes off the ball, and I know the Guidebook product offering is better because of their own efforts. We welcomed the competition, and we wish them all the best in the future.

We promise that no matter what, we’ll always serve every customer as though 100 competitors are breathing down our neck – and we will never take anything for granted.

Our goal now is to ensure that Attendify’s old customers, our current customers, and all future event organizers have access to a world-class app building platform – and that all their efforts were not in vain.

If you have been impacted by Attendify closing down, please reach out to me directly (sprice@guidebook.com) or email our team (sales@guidebook.com) – we’d love to show you our product and explore if we’re a good fit. And if not, we’d be happy to point you in the right direction. After all, we truly are event app experts, and we always put our customers first.

I look forward to seeing what Michael Balyasny (CEO and founder of Attendify) does next, I’m sure it will be exciting!
