These trees serve as nesting sites for the monarch butterfly, a species facing challenges due to both human activities and shifting climatic conditions. The reduction in their population and habitat displacement have been primarily caused by overexploitation and rising temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius. By reestablishing the Abies religiosa trees, we are contributing to preserving the monarch butterfly’s habitat and safeguarding vital water resources in the region.
